Biography
Xania Monet is a virtual R&B recording identity created by songwriter Telisha Nikki Jones, with songs and music videos released to listeners. An early catalogue entry, “I found me,” is dated July 19, 2025 on Apple Music. That establishes recorded output in July, rather than the first appearance of every associated social account. [4] [1]
The voice is produced through generative music tools, while the author has public professional credits. Apple Music’s Unfolded introduction describes Jones using Suno and other tools with her own lyrics. “The strong don’t get a break” separately credits Telisha Jones as songwriter and producer. The virtual artist name, human lyric writing and generation tools therefore describe distinct contributions. [1] [5]
The debut full-length Unfolded arrived on August 8, 2025 with 24 tracks addressing relationships, family and loss. It includes “How Was I supposed to Know?”, which also has a separate music-video release page. The album credits Hallwood under exclusive licence from TMJInc; this documents a release relationship, rather than a complete account of every contributor or production step. [1] [7]
The project entered conventional label and chart systems in 2025. Billboard chart writer Xander Zellner’s October account records a Hallwood Media deal and a No. 30 Adult R&B Airplay debut for “How Was I Supposed to Know?”, describing Monet as the first known AI artist on a Billboard radio chart. That qualified claim does not mean the first virtual performer on any chart. [6]
The catalogue subsequently expanded: Apple Music dates the 21-track The Things I Didn’t Say to January 9, 2026, again crediting Hallwood and TMJInc. The evidence establishes a human-directed virtual recording project. It does not establish that the persona independently decides releases, creates autonomously or interacts autonomously during live performances. [8] [1]
