Biography

Neuro-sama grew out of an osu! game-playing program made by Vedal. In an official osu! interview in 2024, he recalled experimenting with AI for the rhythm game while learning AI in 2019, then streaming it to follow its progress. In early 2022 he combined that earlier program with his idea for an AI VTuber. The speaking avatar debuted on 19 December 2022, a separate stage from the earlier game program. [4] [1]

Streams expanded from games into conversation, collaborations with human streamers and karaoke. Vedal said in that interview that he had continually improved conversational latency, speech and singing since December 2022; broadcasts use his vedal987 channel. The public Neuro SDK documents one game-integration approach: describing game state in text and receiving actions from the character. Its documentation says this interface suits turn-based games, while rapid actions generally need another control system. [4] [5]

On 19 December 2024, the official channel released the music video for the original song “LIFE.” Credits name monii and Johnny R for music, separately credit Ari for composition, list Neuro-sama, pb and monii for vocals, and identify meotashi and others on animation. The livestream character gained a standalone recording with documented human contributions across sound and visuals. [6]

“NEVER,” released on 31 August 2025, presented Neuro and Evil together, with music by Asteroid Music Team. “Colorful Array,” published on 19 December, credits Andrew Holmes and Cosmoz Music for writing and arrangement, Neuro-sama and pb for vocals, and Otsu Labs for animation. The releases document both a shared character performance and an individual recording identity. [7] [8]

In September 2026, the project announced a concert at The Vermont Hollywood in Los Angeles for 19 December, pairing Neuro and Evil with a live band. Pollstar's original interview with Vedal distinguishes synthesized vocals from human songwriting and music production. The extended-reality stage is a new presentation format, not evidence that AI makes an entire show itself. As of 20 October 2026, the concert and announced November EPs remain future plans. [3] [2]

The osu! introduction dates the predecessor to 2018, while Vedal’s own answer recalls 2019; the text attributes the latter instead of silently resolving the discrepancy. Selected songs cover 2024–2025, not all subsequent releases. The concert and November EPs are still future events. Private models, training data and a single interface for every streaming feature are not inferred.
