Biography
KAF began public activity on 18 October 2018, singing through a 3D avatar without revealing her face. KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO describes her as its starting point. A human singer supplies the voice while the digital character supplies the visual presence. [1] [3] [6]
Her early original music was closely tied to Iori Kanzaki. Crowdfunding supported her first solo concert, Fukakai, at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM on 1 August 2019; the album 観測 followed on 11 September. Its songs include 糸, 心臓と絡繰 and 過去を喰らう, with lyrics, composition and arrangements by Kanzaki and some early recordings reworked. [3] [4]
Her concert formats changed over time. Fukakai (Re) was streamed without an in-person audience from Zepp DiverCity in March 2020, while Fukakai San (Kyou) reached Nippon Budokan on 24 August 2022. The latter’s official Blu-ray appeared in 2023 with the performance and documentary footage. [3] [5]
On 13 March 2021, KAF formed V.W.P with RIM, Harusaruhi, Isekaijoucho and KOKO, adding group singing alongside her solo catalogue. At this review, the group’s official page stated that V.W.P entered an INTERVAL at the end of March 2026 to support individual development. The official account describes a period of individual activity and preparation for a future reunion. [3] [2]
Her fourth album, 寓話 (Fable), was released on 25 December 2024 and marked a broader collaborative phase after Iori Kanzaki left the studio. Its special site includes production reflections from PIEDPIPER and KAF, who discusses recording methods and her own vocal decisions. Multiple musicians then reinterpreted the material for the July 2025 remix release 寓話 γ. [6] [7]
可不 (KAFU), derived from KAF’s voice, is a separate singing-software product. Part of the Musical Isotope series, it uses CeVIO AI to reproduce vocal characteristics and lets users edit timing, pitch and vibrato. KAF’s own recording accounts describe her vocal and recording decisions; the synthesis product exists alongside her human singing career. [8] [6]
