Biography
APOKI is a virtual singer developed through VV Entertainment under AFUN Interactive, presented as a long-eared, rabbit-like 3D character. Sony Music Solutions and a later interview date her social and YouTube cover activity to February 2019. Singing and dancing to existing popular songs preceded her original recordings; the rabbit-like being from outer space is character lore. [3] [5]
Her first original single, GET IT OUT, arrived on February 22, 2021. Bugs lists VV Entertainment as production company and Warner Music Korea as distributor. Credits name lyricist Jinooya, composers Melanie Fontana Schulz, A-Dee and Co-chlear, and recording, mixing and mastering personnel. The release moved the cover-performing character into recording work with a dedicated music team. [2]
West Swing feat. E-40, released on August 26, 2022, was her first entirely English-language single. Its New Jack Swing production features E-40, mixing by Dave Way and mastering by Randy Merrill. Sony Music Solutions also announced its business collaboration with AFUN Interactive. Earlier Japanese versions, including June 2022’s Shut Up Kiss Me, had already expanded her catalogue across Korean, Japanese and English. [3]
The first full album, Earth Space Time, followed on November 10, 2023, combining eleven new and previously released tracks. Billboard Japan’s interview presents it as a collection of her earlier singles journey. Korea JoongAng Daily identifies Space and the new hashtaggg as co-leads and documents Korean, Japanese and English material. Collaborating writers and producers include Melanie Fontana, GG Ramirez, A-Dee and Lindgren. [4] [5]
On release day, APOKI held a YouTube press showcase: she performed Space, introduced the album and answered questions in the comments, while reporters captured images from the stream. The spaceship and home planet were its staging fiction; the actual event was an interactive online music launch. Sources establish the character, music production and live format, but do not disclose the complete vocal and animation pipeline. [5]
